August 2025 — Cooling inflation brings cautious optimism
As we enter late summer, some of the macro pressure has eased: inflation is widely expected to have peaked, and markets began pricing in slower, more cautious rate cuts from the Bank of England.
That potential moderation in rates, combined with stabilising consumer sentiment, provides a more favourable backdrop for dealmaking. Many acquirers began dusting off their checks and revisiting targets that had been in limbo for months. According to private market reports, investor confidence has been quietly rising.
For business owners, this suggested that the window for M&A — especially at attractive valuations — might be reopening. Deals delayed earlier in the year could be back on the table.
As always, if we can help in any way, we’re happy to do so.
