Whilst we approach the final weeks of the second quarter of the year, will Q2 follow the results of Q1 2019 which revealed a decline in confidence amongst business leaders?

Over half of all respondents to a recent SME survey believe the economy has worsened in the past 12 months, with 47% of SME’s stating they expect economic conditions to further decrease in the coming year.

If you are going through the dilemma of where to take your business or have some immediate challenges we may have some options to help.

Business support can come in many forms and as a business owner you will know where your strengths are and which areas are challenging.

A first port of call can be to share your problems/ issues and this can be tackled in a number of ways:

1. Your professional advisers: If you have pro-active, commercial, forward thinking accountant – you probably need to look no further (although these are hard to find)

2. You could consider a non-exec director? To give you that ‘outside pair of eyes’, this can be useful but dependant on your size of company you need to consider what value a non-exec director can add.

3. Join one of our partners CEO meetings, where CEO’s of businesses generally with a turnover of between £3 -£20m, meet on a monthly basis to share experiences, discuss issues and support each other. More information at:

CEO/Managing Director Meetings

4. Family and friends

5. Or one of the team at the Business Board, not that we know all the answers but we know people that can help.

Firstly, we sell businesses and can discreetly market companies without any of your identity being highlighted.
We can target/qualify buyers for suitability and only on your specific instructions disclose your identity.
In essence we act as a buffer to maintain your anonymity when going to market.

There may be some suggested improvements / actions before any sale is considered.
Typically this may be how dependant the business is on you, customer concentration, robustness of income stream etc

Equally we would happily confidentially talk through your business objectives and the challenges, to see how we can help.

If you would like to speak to us about your own exit strategy, are looking to make an acquisition, explore finance options or are interested in any of the opportunities mentioned above, please email us at: info@thebusinessboard.co.uk or call our office number on 0845 337 3327.

We look forward to speaking with you.
